Jesus tells this story about a rich man hosting a feast for his friends. Everyone who’s anyone gets an invitation but, one by one, they all reject it with increasingly flimsy excuses. Do you know what the rich man does? Instead of cancelling his party, he goes into the streets and invites anyone who’s nobody to come along! We can learn three things from this, firstly the invite is for EVERYONE (so that means you and me!), secondly it’s a party (so it’s going to be fun!) and finally God’s put on a feast for us, so we don’t need to do anything or be anyone, we just have to accept the invite and turn up.

These are some of the reasons we call our community ‘The Place’, because Jesus has invited all of us to his party. And there’s no better place for any of us to be.
